Requirements You will need your own MODRON Spaces account. If you don’t already have your own account, we invite you to try the platform totally free.

Step 1. Join a call

First you need to have a case created. If you need help with how to create your case check out this guide.

From within your case navigate to the appropriate space for a call. For this guide we will start in the Everybody Space.
At the top-right of a space you will see the Space Call button.
When you click on the Space Call button you will then see the Space Call dropdown menu which displays a list of Spaces you have created for your case. You can click on any of those Spaces to join a call there. For this guide we will click on the Everybody Space to join a call there.
You will then see the join video call screen that allows you to preview your video image and set your camera and microphone settings. When you are ready, click the Join Call button to be connected to the call.
When you click the Join Call button you will be connected to the call. You will see that you have joined the call in the Space Call drop down menu as seen below. From that menu you can leave the call by clicking on the red phone button, or switch to a call in another space by clicking on the relative space option. You can click away from the Space Call drop down menu to close it.
Step 2. Invite participants to the call
Once you click away from the Space call drop down menu it will close. You will then be able to see the Call Participant button as seen above.
When you click the Call Participant button the Call Participants sidebar will open.
From the sidebar you are able to invite participants who are online to join the call by clicking the Invite button next to their name.
When you click on the Invite button next to a participants name they will see a notification appear inviting them to the call as seen above.
If the participant clicks the green accept button they will be connected to the call.
Step 3. Manage call participants
While you are on a call, you can click the Call Participant button to open the Call Participant sidebar.
From this sidebar you are able to manage the participants on the call with the buttons next to their name.

With the buttons above you can manage each participant on the call.

  • Turn a participant's microphone on/off;
  • Turn a participant's camera on/off;
  • Remove a participant from the call;
Step 4. Switching between calls in your Spaces
You can click the Space Call button to open the Space Call dropdown menu.
From the Space Call dropdown menu, you can click on any of the available Spaces to join a call within that Space. If you are currently on a call within a Space, clicking to join a call in another Space will automatically remove you from the call you are currently on.
With Space Calls you can easily manage any number of participants on your calls and can seamlessly move between calls in your different Spaces for joint and private sessions and to facilitate calls between parties and their lawyers etc - the possibilities are only limited by your use cases and workflows.
Conclusion

If you have followed the steps, you will have joined a video call within a space. You will have invited another participant to join a call and you will have switched between calls in your different spaces. You might also want to check out the guide on Using the different video modes in Space Calls
